“Seeking Knowledge is an obligation upon every Muslim”
At Al Manaar, our approach to Islamic education is built upon a strong foundation known as the Triangle of ‘Ilm (Knowledge), which integrates three essential components: Qur’an, Islamic Studies, and Tarbiyah. Together, these elements ensure that children are not only knowledgeable in Deen but also grow into individuals of excellent character, rooted in faith and guided by Islamic values.
1. Qur’an: The Heart of a Muslim’s Knowledge
The Qur’an is the divine word of Allah and lies at the core of every Muslim’s life.At Al Manaar, we prioritize:
- Correct recitation (tajwīd)
- Memorization (ḥifẓ)
- Basic understanding (tafsīr)
This ensures students develop a strong and loving relationship with the Qur’an from an early age. The Qur’an is not just recited, but also respected, internalized, and used as a guide for daily life. Through consistent learning, children are equipped with a connection to the book of Allah that strengthens their identity and nurtures their spirituality.
- Islamic Studies: Knowledge of Faith and Practice
Islamic Studies provide the theoretical and practical framework for living as a Muslim. This includes learning about:- Beliefs (aqīdah)
- Worship (fiqh)
- The life of the Prophet ﷺ (sīrah)
- Islamic history
These subjects give students the tools they need to understand their obligations, the wisdom of Islamic teachings, and how to practice Islam confidently in today’s world.
- Tarbiyah: Character Building and Spiritual Development
Tarbiyah refers to the moral and spiritual development of a person. It is not just about what a student knows, but who they become.Through tarbiyah, we cultivate traits like:
- Honesty
- Patience
- Humility
- Respect
- Responsibility
- Love for Allah and His Messenger ﷺ
This is achieved not only through lessons but also by creating an environment of adab (good manners), discipline, and role-modeling by teachers. Tarbiyah ensures that knowledge is not just academic but transformative — shaping the heart and soul of each child.
Why The Triangle of ‘Ilm Matters
Together, these three pillars form a balanced and holistic Islamic education that prepares students not only to know their Deen, but to live it with faith, confidence, and strong character in the modern world.
Interactive Learning at Al Manaar
At Al Manaar, we believe that learning is most effective when it’s active, engaging, and fun. That’s why our classes go beyond traditional teaching — we create an environment where students participate, explore, and connect with their Deen in meaningful ways.
How We Make Learning Interactive:
- Hands-on Activities: From group projects to Qur’an recitation games, students learn by doing, which helps them retain knowledge and build confidence.
- Discussion and Reflection: Our teachers encourage thoughtful questions and conversations, helping children think deeply about Islamic values and how they apply in everyday life.
- Multimedia Tools: We use audio, video, and digital resources to make lessons vibrant and accessible for all learning styles.
- Role-Playing and Storytelling: Bringing the Seerah and Islamic history to life allows children to emotionally connect with the stories and lessons of our faith.
Personalized Support: We recognize every child is unique, so our teachers provide individual guidance to nurture each student’s strengths and address challenges.
By combining these approaches, Al Manaar ensures students are not just passive listeners but active participants — excited to grow in knowledge, faith, and character.
